2013 Adirondack Appliance Signature Chef Invitational

The Adirondack Appliance Signature Chef Invitational has been created to provide diversity among and opportunity for Capital Region Executive Chefs to compete for a place on the 2014 Signature Chef Team.
These 6 Chefs will compete LIVE during the Saturday Grand Tasting in mystery basket style competition and also showcase their exceptional food in the Grand Tastings in the exhibit area!
Chef Gio (Giovanni S. Morina) began cooking as a small child in his Sicilian families kitchen. Gio learned early on what it takes to make great food from his mother and grandmother. His passion for the art continued into adulthood and led him to culinary school. Gio graduated in 1998 from the ACF accredited and acclaimed culinary school at SCCC. Before opening Gio Culinary Studio in 2007, Chef Gio served as Executive Chef in some of the areas best food service establishments including L’Ecole Encore, Cowan & Lobel, the gourmet market and eatery, and owned/operated a catering company in Albany, NY.
Gio Culinary Studio, located in Voorheesville, NY, offers hands-on culinary classes, catering, private chef services and serves as a student externship site for the C.I.A., SCCC, Paul Smiths College and other area culinary schools.
In 2011 Gio opened Gio Cakes, which continues to specialize in Custom cakes and desserts previously offered by Gio Culinary Studio.
Chef Gio has been regular cast member and competitor of Food Network Challenge since 2010 and has also appeared on several local TV cooking segments.
